Having too many questions – task = determine which questions excite
you the most, or find a data set that allows you to answer all the questions
Having too vague of a question or topic – task = ask yourself “What
interests me about this topic?” or “Are there any events or phenomena that deal
with this question or topic that interests me?”
Studying an excessively large data set – (problem) this leads to
never finishing one’s report – task = avoid
Asking a data-less question – (problem) there is not enough data to
answer the question – task = avoid
Asking an idea-less question – ([unlikely] problem) there are no
sociological ideas that will allow you to address the question – task = avoid
