In-text citations:
If you are not using both books for a single lesson, then just include the page
numbers (##) as citations for your reading. For example,
"Goffman
terms these clues that we use to answer these questions “sign-vehicles” (64)."
If you are using both books for
a single lesson, then use the (ES, ##) and (name, ##) format from the last report.
If you draw
on another resource besides the books, then use the (cf. name/abbreviation) format for resources without page numbers. If this resource has page numbers, then use the (cf. name/abbreviation, ##) format. If you use the (cf. name/abbreviation, ##) format, then use the (ES, ##) and/or (name, ##) format for the blue and green book.
If you use either the blue book or the green book but not both, and you use another resource that doesn't have pages numbers (e.g., a webpage), then you can use the (##) format in addition with the previous (cf. abbreviation/name) format.
Use the the format below for the blue or green book. The only difference should be that if you don’t use both books (or another resource that has page numbers) on a single lesson, then you don’t need to include the (ES) or (Last name) at the end of each citation for the textbooks. But you need to include (abbreviation/name) after all alternative resources. Otherwise, if you do use multiple resources with page numbers, then make sure to include after each of your citations in the Reference section (ES) for the blue book, (Last name) for the green book, or (abbreviation/name) for alternative resources.
How to cite the green book:
Last Name, First Name of writer. (yyyy of original print/2010) Title. Introductory Sociology Reader by R. Hensley and R. Castro. Pgs. ###-###.
For example,
Goffman, Ervning (1959/2010) The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life. Introductory Sociology Reader by R. Hensley and R. Castro. Pgs. 63-72.
How to cite the blue book:
Croteau, David and William Hoynens. 2013. Ch.##: Chapter Title. Experience Sociology. Pgs. ###-###.
For example,
Croteau, David and William Hoynens. 2013. Ch.5: Power. Experience Sociology. Pgs. 108-133.
