Presentation preparation

What can go wrong in a speech? What is the worst case scenario of presenting…?
… For the presenter?
Being uprepared/not knowing enough
Dragging it out/not getting to the point
Forgetting words (on topic)
Going blank
Losing your train of thought
Speech trouble (pronunciation)
Using jargon or slang that audience don’t understand
Uh and like and basically (word repetition)
Talking too fast
Anxiety
No interest/lack of desire in subject
Rudeness from the classmates
Audience is bored
Non-responsive audience
Audience asking too many questions

… For the audience/witnesses?
Being rude
Being hostile
Not paying attention
Missing the main points
Failing to ask a question that you would like to ask
Absence of speaker (no lesson taught)
Asking extremely disruptive questions

How can you combat these things…?
… For audience?

Receive
Appreciate
Summarize
Ask

NOTE: Though the student is more often the audience, the teacher must also be able to listen to the students when they, for example, ask questions, propose examples or counterexamples, explore an idea, etc.

… For the speaker?

What makes a great talk, great
NOTE: Although this talk is primarily about presenting on cutting edge ideas, there is still a lot of useful information in it.
